As well as its unique earthy, traditional appearance, Lava-Clay improves water quality and enhances both the taste and fragrance of your tea. This effect is most notable with aged teas such as Pu-erh (Pu'er/Po-lay), Black Tea, Oolong and Rock Oolong tea. Dahongpao Rock tea is the most famous of all the Wuyi rock teas. The name "Dahongpao" means "big red robe".

Dahongpao has the best reputation. The original Dahongpao is made from the tea plants which are grown on a cliff in Wuyi mountain.

This is a half fermentation/half oxidation tea. The tightly clustered ready-to-use leaves of Dahongpao are greenish brown in color.

The orange tea liquid carries a strong floral fragrance. Even after nine Infusions, the floral fragrance like sweet-scented osmanthus still remains. After tasting, the fragrance will last in your mouth for a long time.
